Slab on grade waterproofing commonly involves sandwiching a membrane between two layers of concrete requiring more material and not resolving the issue of wicked ground water. In certain applications the use of membranes when using TUF-BAR™ has been eliminated since protection of fiberglass reinforcement is not required. TUF-BAR™ fiberglass rebar:
